Dear Reader (2025-03-05),
There are no evenly vaguely poor days in Antarctica. The days vary between spectacular and wonderful. There are though days when my photographic eye doesn’t see very well. Today is Sunday December the 15th and is one of those days..
Our afternoon cruise and landing is in and around Gourdin Island. It is gorgeous out. The sky is blue; I am sweating in my zodiac attire; the glaciers and icebergs are white jewels set against a calm deep blue sea; penguins that have just come out of the water are glistening white. In the morning, I could not see much either and reverted to: oh well I might as well try some ICM (intentional camera movement). Later that afternoon I nearly fall asleep reviewing my collection of well exposed banal images.
Fear not though. There are still half a dozen images I like from that day at Gourdin Island and Kinnes Cove. The final 3 images in today’s set are from Canuck Harbour (renamed today by me from Yankee Harbor).
