Dear Reader (2025-01-02)
As some of you know, I have enjoyed street photography for many years. Most of my street photography is shades of un-shareable drek. But, every once in a while I capture images of which I am proud.
1 – A man with a handcart makes a delivery to a café before the steel security blind is fully raised.
2 – Carboard recyclers overload their cart.
3 – At some grand event an armed security guard checks to see if I represent a threat. The white border felt harsh for this image, and so I went with a grey.
4 – At a bar in La Boca a pair of disinterested tango dancers try to seduce people into sitting down.
5-7 – In La Boca the must-have-photo-location is in front of the old pharmacy. I spend a leisurely beer or two watching people being photographed.
8-9 – A piece of advice I received about walking in Buenos Aires is to walk with purpose, even if you don’t know where you are going.
10 – Murals everywhere, anywhere, and in various states

I come and go about street photography. Many people I see are not interesting. They’re just someone trudging about their business. Perhaps that just means I’m not looking hard enough.
2. This is interesting. They must have a reason for collecting so much paper and cardboard. I wouldn’t think they could get actual money for it, but maybe there is a market, and I’m just unaware of it.
4. It’s said that tango is best danced by people who are madly in love with each other, but are currently furious with each other because each is having an affair with people who are watching the dance. These two aren’t that, rather, it seems like they are just going through the motions. I like how the background mural mirrors real life. Or maybe they are mirroring the mural.
Thank you for visiting and commenting. Re: 4 I too was drawn to the interplay between mural and dancers, and I don’t know which one is the mirror.
