  1. I read about Easter Island as a child, and wanted to go there. I believe at the time the only way to get there was by ship. Needless to say it didn’t happen, and as I alluded to in an earlier comment, the idea of the flights to get there now horrifies me. You have my admiration for undertaking the trip.
I cannot help but think about Rapa Nui being a cautionary tale for us, if only we had the wit to understand that essentially we are in the same place as they were. Trapped on a small island with limited resources, and the results when they used up those resources. Our island is bigger, but still an island, a pale blue dot in an endless space. I suppose I should note that slavers from Chile didn’t help the situation. As an aside, I await the arrival of the aliens that like tapioca brained humans raised on network television or Fox news.

    1. A nice landscape, giving an overview of some of the island.
    4. There’s something sad and haunting about this one.
