Dear Reader (2026-01-19)
As I slowly get engaged in new projects, practice continues. This past Thursday (2026-01-15) Keith and I went on another one of our enjoyable rambles. We stopped often as we made our way to and from Waterton. Keith’s report and collection of images from the ramble are here . And for you I have a little bit of this and a little bit of that.
Notes on Photos

One of the fun things about going on a photo ramble with other people is looking at the photos they got, that I didn’t get, or seeing their version of the same scene. Sometimes that just means different photographic taste. Sometimes they saw something I didn’t, or had the skill to capture the light a particular way.
1- My #6 is the same scene, just shifted to the right. I saw the gully and shadows and made that the centre. I like this composition.
3- Lundbreck falls. There is no end of photos here. I like the conversion to B&W. Shutter speed is a critical choice for waterfall photography, making the lower left particularly attractive.
4- A fun series of photos with those turbines all in a row. It reminded me of a giant Swiss Army knife with all the blades open.
5- An example of a photo I didn’t see, though I was nearby looking in the other direction. Nice composition with the rock and ice. Pity about that bit of wind ruffling the surface.
7- Cameron Falls. I find this a difficult and unrestful subject. All the diagonal lines, and the water not falling straight.
8- I like what you’ve done here. This is my favourite of the bunch.
9- Similar to my #12. You have a slightly darker interpretation that is probably closer to the actual light we looked at.
Thank you once again for your comments and the day.
